What to Expect When You Book a Session With Me
Booking your session
First things first, I'm so glad you found me and I can't wait to capture your priceless memories! To book your session, the first step is to submit your contact form through my website to let me know you are interested in a photography session. Once I receive this, I will contact you within 24 hours to make sure we are a good fit and figure out the best date! Once we establish a date, I will send you an email to finalize the booking with a contract, questionnaire, and to pay the retainer.
Pre-Shoot Preparation
After you have booked your date, I will send you my exclusive welcome packet with a helpful styling guide. This packet will also prepare you for your upcoming session and include tips on how to style your whole family to get the look you want and the most out of your session! I will also be available to assist with styling, so you are more than welcome to shoot me an email and we can look at different options. Unless you already have a location chosen, about a week leading up to the session, I will be in contact with you to choose the perfect location!
During your session
Your session day is finally here! Yay! We will meet at the location and time agreed upon. It is best to arrive 10 minutes early in case you may need to change or need to round up your kiddos. We will walk together to the location we will be taking photos at. I get told a lot people get nervous or don't know how to pose for photos! You absolutely don't have to worry, I will direct and guide you and your family on what to do and pose you in flattering positions so you love how look in your photos. I will capture formal smiling at the camera shots as well as fun and sweet candid shots. You can expect lot's of smiling and having fun, because who likes stiff, boring photos! If you have little kids, the best thing to do is let them lead the session and go with the flow — happy kids make for better photos!
After the session
As soon as I get home from the session, I upload and save all the RAW photos on an external hard drive so they're safe and backed up. I cull all of the photos and keep the best ones! I will then start the editing process, which includes removing any photo bombs, cropping, and editing to my style. This process can take up to 14 days. So you can expect your final gallery no later than 14 days from your session date. Your gallery will include all of the best photos, then you get to choose the amount of photos that come with your package. If you decide you love more, you have the option purchase additional photos as well. You will then be able to download your gallery, I recommend backing them up on a usb or hard drive for safe keeping. Through my website you also have the option to have your photos printed to hang on your wall, because that's what it's all about, right?
